The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, on Thursday, 25th September, 2025, held a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders at the Command Headquarters.
It was to review recent operations, evaluate performance, and set new security priorities for the Federal Capital Territory.
CP Adewale highlighted significant operational achievements in the month under review, including the arrest of 523 suspects during raids and for various offense, impoundment of 126 vehicles, rescue of 3 kidnapped victims, neutralisation of 4 kidnappers in separate encounters, recovery of 6 rifles, 48 rounds of ammunition, and thirteen stolen vehicles.
In a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command,
Abuja, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA), he commended the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for foiling various kidnapping attempts in Gwagwalada and Karu Area Council, a proactive action that averted a potential security crisis.
He further emphasised the importance of community policing, noting ongoing engagements with religious leaders, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Miyetti Allah, and other stakeholders.
The CP equally commended the Scorpion Squad, RRS, and Divisional teams in Kubwa, Life Camp, Galadimawa, Mpape, Nyanya, Durumi, CP MMU-1, and Anti-One-Chance Team ‘B’.
With the ember months, political activities, and Independence Day celebrations approaching, the Commissioner of Police directed officers to intensify intelligence-led operations, enhance community relations, and remain firm, fair, and professional.
He cautioned against unauthorised roadblocks, extortion during enforcement of any kind, and other misconduct.
Officers were also reminded to remain vigilant, avoid intoxicants.
