The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), Major General Folusho Oyinlola has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to bolstering security collaboration with the Bauchi State Government.

The GOC made the statement during a visit to Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
While delivering his remarks as monitored by Security Watch Africa (SWA), the GOC conveyed the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu’s appreciation for the governor’s support in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
He highlighted the strategic deployment of troops to tackle insecurity, including banditry and illegal mining and stressed the need for inter-state collaboration with neighboring states which comprises Gombe, Taraba, Plateau and Adamawa States.

In his remarks, Governor Mohammed commended the Chief of Army Staff and the leadership of 3 Division, Nigerian Army for their proactive measures in safeguarding lives and property in the trouble areas of Bauchi State.
He also pledged that the State Government will support the operation in both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to restoring lasting peace in the trouble areas within the state.
The Governor assured the GOC that the stakeholders within operation areas are fully committed to partnering with security agencies throughout the operation period.

The GOC was accompanied by the Commander 33 Brigade, Brigadier General UG Simon, Commander 251 Base Service Group, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Y. Bashir, rep of the Commissioner of Police and Head of Vigilante.
The visit showcased the NA’s commitment to protecting citizens and defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
