The President of Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Dr Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu on Saturday 23, May 2026, led a remarkable Sallah humanitarian outreach at the Guards Brigade Sports Complex, Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Abuja in the spirit of compassion, unity and service to humanity.

The outreach, organised as part of NAOWA’s humanitarian and welfare initiatives, witnessed the distribution of relief materials and support packages to beneficiaries, bringing smiles to many families during the festive season.
A statement by Captain Jemila Jimoh, Liaison Officer, NAOWA, and made available to Security Watch Africa (SWA) said the event, reflected the Association’s enduring commitment to supporting NASWA members and Wives of fallen heroes and strengthening the spirit of togetherness within military communities and beyond.

Addressing the beneficiaries at the event, Dr Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu stated that Sallah remains a season of sacrifice, love and generosity, emphasising the importance of extending kindness and support to the Military communities and beyond .
She noted that NAOWA will continue to champion humanitarian programmes that uplift lives, promote social welfare and foster compassion across communities and beyond.

The President NAOWA further encouraged members of NASWA and the wider society to embrace the virtues of empathy, peaceful coexistence and selfless service, especially during this festive period.
The outreach was marked by moments of goodwill, appreciation and joyful interactions as beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gesture and support received.

“The event once again highlighted the compassionate leadership of Dr Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu and NAOWA’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian service and community impact. Highlights of the outreach included the distribution of relief materials,welfare packages to beneficiaries and group photographs,” the statement stated.
