Troops of 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army deployed at Ruwan Godiya, in Faskari Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State have foiled terrorists attack in Katsina State.
In the process, they killed two of the terrorists.
It was gathered by Security Watch Africa (SWA) that the troops responded to distress calls from the locals at about 7:30 pm on 28 May, 2026 disclosing that terrorists were sighted with some motorcycles at a nearby bush with the intent of invading the community.
“Consequently, troops immediately set out to thwart the insidious plans of the terrorists. However, before getting to the village, the terrorists had sighted advancing troops and opened fire while others fled into the bush.
“Troops engaged them with heavy volume of fire and neutralised two among the terrorists. Additionally, troops gave hot pursuit to the remaining escaping terrorists and captured one motorcycle and recovered 12 rounds of ammunition apparently abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.
“It is instructive to note that there was no casualty on own troops. The general area was dominated with aggressive patrol to deny the terrorists freedom of action.”
