The Commissioner Of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller Dantawaye, has made public his scorecard from October, 2025 when he took over to December, 2025.

According to him, the Command, under him, carried out comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation across the six Area Councils of FCT, which identified key issues common to every growing society including kidnapping, armed robbery, “one-chance” robbery, car theft, drug-related offences and other minor crimes.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the CP said that the Command adopted focused, intelligence-driven operational approach, anchored on crime analysis, hotspot mapping, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun.
The achievements recorded, he said, were also made possible due to collaboration with sister security agencies and continuous operational evaluation, which guided deployments and tactical responses.
He explained further that the strategies employed during the period were built around strengthened community policing engagements, sustained intelligence-led policing, targeted clearance operations, enhanced visibility policing, public enlightenment and strategic communication.
On the achievements, he said “A total of 300 cases were reported within the period under review, leading to the arrest of 160 suspects across various categories of crime.
“Within the period under review, kidnapping incidents recorded stood at 7 cases, with 41 suspects arrested. Several kidnapping gangs operating within and around the FCT were disrupted through intelligence-led operations, forest combing exercises, and joint operations with sister security agencies.
“Armed robbery cases recorded during the time under review stood at 62, resulting in the arrest of 38 suspects. These operations led to the dismantling of several armed robbery syndicates and recovery of firearms and live ammunitions.
“Cases of “one-chance” robbery recorded during the period stood at 26, with 12 suspects arrested, following sustained surveillance, stop-and-search operations, and targeted raids.
“Car theft and vehicle snatching cases recorded during the time under review stood at 35, with 11 suspects arrested and 20 stolen vehicles comprising vehicles recovered from car theft, armed robbery, kidnapping, and “one-chance” robbery operations were successfully recovered within and outside the FCT,” he stated.
Arrests, the CP said, were also recorded in respect of homicide, cultism, drug-related offences, illegal possession of firearms, cyber-related fraud, and other violent crimes, with 120 suspects apprehended across the categories.
During the period, the CP said, the Command successfully rescued 24 victims of kidnap including women and children, from criminal hideouts and forest locations within and around the FCT.
Continuing, he said “Victims of “one-chance” robbery and other violent crimes numbering 8 were also rescued following prompt police interventions.”
On the cases charged to Court and convictions, he said, 96 suspects were charged to court during the period under review, of which 60 convictions were secured, while other cases remain at various stages of prosecution.
“The cases charged include kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, fraud-related offences, cultism, burglary, and other serious crimes.
“Disciplinary cases involving police personnel were also addressed through appropriate internal mechanisms in accordance with extant regulations.”
Stressing that significant recoveries were recorded during the period, CP Dantawaye said “Recovered firearms and exhibits include; Twenty-one AK-47 rifles, Ten shotguns, One K2 rifle, Thirty-seven locally made pistols, Thirty-one locally fabricated firearms, Four Magazines, Thirteen knives, Seven cutlasses, Two long scaffold rods, Seven phones.
Others are Eighty six bags of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa, Four digital scales, One hundred and one Armored cables in a tinted glass vehicle.
Also recovered are Hand saw and iron bar, Three (3) ATM cards, Two ID cards, Large quantity of illicit drugs and substances, One hundred and ninety-three rounds of live ammunition of various caliber, Fourteen vehicles linked to car theft, armed robbery,kidnapping and “one-chance” robbery cases were recoveredboth within and outside the FCT, Twelve counterfeit stamps, Counterfeit boarding tickets etc.
The CP added “Also, Cash recoveries were made from various criminal operations within the period under review amounted to fifteen million, four hundred and fifty thousand naira (N15,450,000) only, including proceeds of kidnapping, armed robbery, fraud, and other crimes.
“Other exhibits recovered include communication devices, motorcycles, dangerous weapons, and other items linked to criminal activities.”
According to him, 9 armed suspects were neutralized following gun duels with police operatives while attempting to evade arrest or take away hostages during several high-risk operations within the period, particularly anti-kidnapping and response to robbery operations,
During the operations, he regretted that the Command recorded 6 police officers paying the supreme price in the line of duty.
“Their sacrifices remain a solemn reminder of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the protection of lives and property. May their souls rest in peace.”
Moving forward, the CP assured that the command will build on the operational gains recorded since his assumption of duty.
“FCT Police Command will continue to intensify on community policing engagements, deepen intelligence-led policing strategies, sustain targeted clearance operations, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and expand public enlightenment initiatives to address evolving security challenges within the FCT.”
He appreciated the Inspector General of Police, Minister of the FCT for their continuous support.
The CP also thanked the residents of the Federal Capital Territory, sister security agencies, the media, members of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Civil Society Organizations, vigilante groups, and community policing stakeholders for their support and cooperation during the period under review.
