The Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU, has commended the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, for his professionalism and dedication to national service.
The commendation was made on Monday during a courtesy visit by the IEDPU National President, Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG Abdullahi A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), and other members of the Union to the Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.
Speaking during the visit, ACG AbdulMalik (Rtd.) thanked God for the life and career of AIG Jimoh, describing him as a worthy son of Ilorin whose conduct reflects discipline, integrity and service.
He praised the AIG for his leadership role in maintaining relative peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States, and for his contributions to the development of Ilorin.
ACG AbdulMalik further described AIG Jimoh as a principled and dutiful officer whose character aligns with the values of Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, where the Police boss had his secondary education.
“The school is committed not only to academic excellence but also to instilling good virtues, moral discipline and exemplary character. We are confident that AIG Jimoh will continue to discharge his responsibilities with diligence and in accordance with the rule of law,” he said.
Responding, AIG Jimoh expressed appreciation to the IEDPU delegation for the visit and goodwill. He said the recognition was an honour and a reminder of the responsibility attached to public office.
The Zone 2 AIG reaffirmed his commitment to the professional discharge of his constitutional duties, guided by the rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights.
“Justice will be pursued without fear or favour, irrespective of an individual’s social status, position or class,” he assured.
AIG Jimoh added that Zone 2 Headquarters remains resolute in its mandate to safeguard lives and property, maintain public order, and promote a safe and secure environment for all residents of Lagos and Ogun States.
He said the Command will continue to collaborate with traditional institutions, community groups and other stakeholders to strengthen security across the zone.
